Oahu packs a lot into a small island: the hotels and Diamond Head of Waikiki, quiet white-sand beaches on the east side, the ridges of Kualoa and the surf towns of the North Shore. As a local photo and video team we shoot here every week, so we can tell you where your kind of photoshoot works best — and at what time.
Most of our clients stay in Waikiki, and many sessions happen right there or a short drive away. If you would rather see another side of the island, we plan the route and the timing with you, so the day still feels easy.

WHERE TO PHOTOGRAPH ON OAHU
Waikiki & Honolulu
Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach, Kapiʻolani Park and Magic Island are minutes from most hotels. Come at sunrise before the beach fills up, or for sunset at Magic Island. The easiest choice for a mini session.
East side
Lanikai, Waimanalo and the Makapuʻu coast are about half an hour from Waikiki: turquoise water, offshore islands and sea cliffs. This side faces the sunrise.
Windward coast & Kualoa
Around 45 minutes away. Steep green ridges and Mokoliʻi island in the bay; quiet and spacious in the morning, greener and sometimes rainier than Honolulu.
North Shore
About an hour’s drive. Surf beaches, the small town of Haleiwa and sunsets over the water. In winter the waves are huge; in summer the ocean is usually calm.
West side & Ko Olina
Around 40 minutes away, next to the resorts. Calm lagoons, reliable sunsets and usually drier weather than the rest of the island.

How much does a photoshoot on Oahu cost?
A mini session of about 45 minutes in Waikiki starts at $399. One hour anywhere on Oahu is $550, plus a travel fee that depends on the location. Video, drone footage and longer coverage are quoted separately.
Is there a travel fee?
Yes, for sessions outside Waikiki we add a travel fee based on the distance. Tell us the spot you have in mind, and we will tell you the exact amount before you book.
Which side of Oahu is best for photos?
For sunrise, the east side: Lanikai, Waimanalo and Makapuʻu. For sunset, Magic Island in Honolulu, the Ko Olina lagoons or the North Shore. Waikiki works for both if you start early or come for the last hour of light.
Can you suggest a spot near our hotel?
Yes. From the Waikiki hotels, Diamond Head views and Magic Island are minutes away; at the Ko Olina resorts the lagoons are a short walk; from a North Shore rental we pick a beach nearby.
Does it rain a lot on Oahu?
Short showers are common, especially on the windward side and in the mountains, and they usually pass in minutes. We watch the radar with you and move to a drier side of the island or to another time if needed.
Can we book a short session in Waikiki?
Yes — the mini session is about 45 minutes at one spot near the Waikiki hotels, from $399. It is a great option for a quick couple or family session or a simple proposal.
