OAHU ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER
Just the two of you — vows on a quiet beach or a trail above the ocean, and photos that feel like your day, not a production.
Eloping on Oahu means choosing the island over a guest list: an officiant, your vows and a place you love, at the hour you love. We photograph elopements from the first look to the last light, and we help with the parts that are easy to get wrong — timing, wind, crowds and paperwork.
Many couples come to us with only a date and a feeling. Tell us yours, and we will suggest a spot and a schedule that fit: sunrise on the east side, a trail high above the water or a sunset beach on the North Shore.
HOW TO ELOPE ON OAHU
-
Apply for the marriage license
Fill out the online application of the Hawaii Department of Health before your trip. Then you both pick up the license in person from a licensing agent on the island.
-
Mind the 30 days
The license is valid for 30 days and only in Hawaii. There is no waiting period, no blood test and no residency or citizenship requirement.
-
Book a licensed officiant
The ceremony has to be performed by an officiant licensed by the State of Hawaii. Many officiants also take care of the beach permit.
-
Pick the place and the hour
Sunrise gives you empty beaches and soft light; sunset is warmer and more golden. We suggest spots that fit the look you love and the size of your group.
-
The day itself
We meet you at the spot, photograph the vows and the first kiss, then wander with you for portraits while the light changes.
-
Your gallery
The unedited photos reach you the next day — in time to send to the family back home. Your edited favorites are ready within 3–7 business days.
Rules can change, so check the current requirements on the Hawaii Department of Health website. The whole process step by step — permits, costs and timeline — is in our guide: how to elope in Hawaii.
ELOPEMENT SPOTS WE LOVE ON OAHU
Waimanalo Bay
Miles of soft sand under the Koʻolau mountains. Even later in the morning it is easy to find a quiet stretch for your vows.
Makapuʻu Lighthouse Trail
A paved trail high above the ocean and the offshore islands — a beautiful sunrise walk for portraits right after your vows.
Waimea Bay and the North Shore
Golden sunsets on a wide bay. Calm and swimmable in summer; in winter the surf is wild and spectacular to watch from the sand.
A private home or garden
No permit and no passers-by: a rented beach house or a garden venue for an elopement with a few of your closest people.

OAHU ELOPEMENT FAQ
How much does an elopement photographer cost on Oahu?
Elopement photography on Oahu starts at $550 for one hour, plus a travel fee that depends on the location. If you want the getting ready, a second spot or a film of the ceremony, we quote the extra time and video separately. The license and the officiant are paid separately.
How long does an elopement take?
The ceremony itself is short. With portraits afterwards, most couples book one to two hours; add more time if you want a second location or the getting ready.
Do we need a permit to elope on a beach?
Weddings on public beaches in Hawaii need a state permit, and officiants and planners usually arrange it. A private home or garden needs no beach permit at all.
Can we elope at sunrise?
Yes, and we love it: the beaches are nearly empty, the light is soft and you have the rest of the day to celebrate.
Can you film our vows?
Yes. Add our videographer to keep the words, not only the pictures — and drone footage where it is permitted.
We only know the date. Can you help with the rest?
That is how most couples start. Tell us your date and the feeling you want, and we will suggest the spot, the time and the order of the day.
