HAWAII ELOPEMENT PACKAGES

An honest answer to a package-shaped question: here is everything an elopement actually contains, what each piece involves, and why we would rather you booked them yourselves.

Search for elopement packages in Hawaii and you will find a hundred listings with names like Sunset Dream and Aloha Forever, each a different bundle at a different price, none of them telling you what is inside. Comparing them is close to impossible, which is rather the idea.

We do not sell one. We charge for our own hours and tell you plainly what the other pieces are, so you can decide which you want. Below is the whole list — the fixed costs, the optional ones, and the single item nobody puts on a brochure.

WHAT AN ELOPEMENT IS MADE OF

The license — $65

Paid to the state when you apply online, plus $10 for the certified copy afterwards. Fixed, public, and the same whoever you book with. Nobody can discount it and nobody should be marking it up.

An officiant

Must hold a state performer license. Many are also marriage license agents, which collapses two errands into one meeting. Prices vary by who you choose and what you want said.

Photography

We sell hours rather than bundles: $399 covers a short session in one location, $550 covers a full hour here on Oahu, and the flight is added elsewhere. Every frame lands with you inside a day.

Flowers and leis

A bouquet, a boutonnière, leis for the exchange. Local florists deliver to the beach. This is the line couples most often cut without regretting it — the background is already doing a lot.

Permits

The one piece nobody advertises. State shoreline and county parks are separate applications, and some parks exclude commercial activity entirely. We handle the ones our work needs.

Hair, makeup and the rest

Optional, and worth it if the photographs matter to you. Everything else — a cake, a celebrant’s keepsake certificate, a boat — is a decision rather than a requirement.

BUILDING YOUR OWN, IN ORDER

  • Fix the date and the island first. Everything else is available on every island; the hour and the light are not.
  • Then lock in the photographer and the officiant. Those two are the bottleneck, and winter evenings go first.
  • Apply for the license inside thirty days of the ceremony, then collect it in person once you land.
  • Add flowers a fortnight out. Florists here work to short lead times and a beach delivery is routine.
  • Leave the permit to us, and tell us the guest count honestly — it changes which permission applies.

PACKAGES AND PRICING FAQ

Do you sell elopement packages?

No, and that is deliberate. A package is a bundle of other people’s services with a margin on top. We charge for our own time, tell you what each other piece normally involves, and let you book the ones you want directly. Most couples spend less that way.

What does a Hawaii elopement package usually include?

Typically: an officiant, photography for an hour or two, a simple bouquet and leis, sometimes the license appointment and a location permit. The variation between sellers is enormous, which is why comparing two packages by price alone tells you almost nothing.

So what will this actually cost us?

The fixed parts are $65 for the license and $10 for a certified copy. Our photography starts at $399 for a short session and $550 for an hour. Officiant, flowers and anything else depend on who you choose — ask us and we will point you at the people we work with.

Is it cheaper to elope than to have a wedding here?

Dramatically, in most cases. The expensive parts of a wedding are the ones that scale with guests: catering, seating, a venue that holds them. An elopement removes all three and leaves the parts you actually remember.

What is the minimum we need?

A license, a licensed officiant, the two of you, and permission to stand where you are standing. Everything else on this page is optional, including us.

Can you recommend an officiant and a florist?

Yes. We work with people on each island regularly and will send you names rather than a directory link. No commission changes hands — that is the point of not selling packages.
